50/50 Raffle Seller

Job brief

The Vipers/Toros Foundation, the charitable arm of the RGV FC Soccer Club, is seeking a dependable, enthusiastic, highly-motivated, and hard –working individual to sell 50/50 Raffle tickets during the upcoming season.

The 50/50 Raffle offers fans the opportunity to win cash prizes, all in the name of charity. Each home game, one lucky fan will win half of the net proceeds, with the remaining proceeds benefiting the Vipers/Toros Foundation and their mission to improve the lives in our community.

How it Works:  A 50/50 raffle is a fundraising concept where everyone wins. Tickets are sold to fans and event attendees; the proceeds of each purchased ticket go into a centralized jackpot. To end the draw, the winning number is randomly selected with the lucky winner receiving half of the proceeds and the other half benefitting the associated charity or nonprofit of the raffle.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating raffle ticket sales via electronic handheld device and/or PC

  • Actively engage fans to participate in the raffle at mobile and/or stationary locations throughout HEB Park and Bert Ogden Arena

  • Educate fans about the rules and process of the 50/50 Raffle program

  • Effectively handle any issues that might arise from raffle ticket purchasers

  • Accurately handle cash transactions and distribution of raffle tickets

  • Responsibly deposit cash and all credit sales to the 50/50 Raffle Facilitator at the end of each shift

  • Responsibly store all work materials/equipment that have been used once shift is complete

Requirements

  • GED/ High School Diploma required

  • Must be a responsible, motivated individual with a competitive spirit

  • Ability to interact positively with a large fan base and actively engage all guest

  • Must have excellent cash handling and customer service skills

  • Must be comfortable with technology (i.e. handheld electronic devices)

  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions to include extreme heat, cold and rai

  • Must be able to work irregular hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be able to work Toros home games each month during the season (March – October)

  • Must be able to work Vipers home games each month during the season (October – April)

  • Basic understanding of the etiquette and timing of soccer and basketball

  • Prior customer service or sales experience is a plus

  • May be required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs

  • May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pound
