Community Relations Assistant
The Community Relations Assistant will have the primary focus on assisting the Community Relations Manager in overseeing all community relations functions for Golden Grape Entertainment, which encompasses the Bert Ogden Arena, H-E-B Park, the RGV Vipers, and the RGV FC Toros. This individual will be responsible for assisting to create and maintain a favorable public image for the organization they represent. They help to shape public perception of the organization and to increase awareness of its work and goals.
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate a deep understanding of event planning, time management, be up to up-to-date on industry trends and practices, and be a great teammate who is willing to do what it takes to craft top-quality marketing strategies that meet the Company’s goals and objectives.
In collaboration with the Community Relations Manager, will assist in the planning and execution of community events
Help build and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations that can support your employers’ goals
Assist the Community Relations Manager in reviewing and approving donation requests to submit to the board
Work cross-functionally to ensure efficient communication between the marketing department and its community partners (as well all other departments)
Assist the Community Relations Manager in attending community events and or multiple functions scheduled in one day
Oversee the development and design of the community sections on all work-related websites to include RGV Vipers webpage and RGV FC Toros webpage.
Assist the Community Relations manager on all Game days
Assist in the implementation of community outreach programs and all of its logistics
Responsible for all special projects as designated by the Marketing Director
Must have proven job reliability, dedication and commitment
Must possess excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Knowledge of and ability to apply basic marketing concepts (i.e., brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/
strategies, consumer segmentation) used in the development of marketing plans
Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Must possess the ability to drive multiple projects forward simultaneously Stay up to date with industry and market trends
Must possess strong strategic and creative thinking skills, along with collaborative and solution-oriented problem-solving skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports/Business Management, or a closely-related field preferred (Student close to graduating in this field allowed)
Minimum of 1-2 years marketing experience, preferably in sport and/or entertainment marketing
