Interns in Game Operations will assist in the coordination of talent bookings for Vipers home games; assist with the Vipers mascots on their appearances; assist with the Snake Charmers and Hype Squad on their appearances; assist with the set-up/tear-down concourse entertainment for Vipers home games; and assist in coordination and on-floor execution of game timeouts, contests, game activities and events prior to, during, and after games. Interns must attend all GameDay related meetings

Requirements

  • Assist the Director/Coordinator with creating/completing the game scripts, PA copy, and gameday notes for host, DJ, production & entertainment, etc.
  • Print and distribute gamescripts and PA copy each gameday
  • Assist in updating Master GameSpreadsheet
  • Assist in preparing all gameday prizes
  • Assist in organizing and preparing gameday music
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory lists of supplies, props, costumes, etc.
  • Assist in execution of in-gamepromotions and entertainment elements as needed
  • Assist with and attend all pre-gamemeetings conducted by Director
  • Assist Entertainment Director with assigned anthem & halftime acts
  • Conduct research, as assigned, for new props, prizes, contest ideas, entertainment, etc.
  • Contribute creative and original ideas for partner and departmental in-game promotions
  • Contribute to department brainstorming sessions
  • Assist on gamenights as assigned
  • Follow team/player storylines for gameday programming
  • Must be able to take direction and work well with others
  • Must be able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned
  • Assist all members of production team as assigned 
  • Criteria & Qualifications
  • Excellent phone skills
  • Excellent computer skills; specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to deal with internal and external clients in a professional manner
  • Marketing; sports marketing; or related business major
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Able to keep track of multiple calendars
  • Excellent understanding of the game of Basketball and able to identify ref calls
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift over 25 pounds
